Dr. N. Sai Bhaskar Reddy is an internationally recognized biochar pioneer, with over 20 years of experience in biochar, biomass conversion, climate resilience, and sustainable development.

As the Founder of Biochar Academy and Biochar Education, he is dedicated to making practical, science-based knowledge accessible to learners worldwide.

Dr. Reddy holds two Master’s degrees—Applied Geology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay and Geography from Osmania University—and earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Impact Assessment. Throughout his career, he has worked across government agencies, international organizations, research institutions, universities, NGOs, and the private sector, contributing to projects in environmental management, agriculture, natural resource conservation, climate change adaptation and mitigation, disaster risk reduction, water security, and rural livelihoods.

A pioneer of biochar in India since 2005, Dr. Reddy has developed and demonstrated practical biochar production technologies, innovative biomass conversion systems, biochar-based agricultural solutions, and carbon sequestration strategies suitable for both smallholder farmers and large-scale enterprises. His work integrates scientific research with field implementation, enabling sustainable solutions that generate environmental, social, and economic benefits.

Over the past two decades, he has trained and mentored thousands of farmers, entrepreneurs, researchers, engineers, students, development professionals, and policymakers through workshops, field demonstrations, university lectures, and international conferences. He is the author of more than 50 books and numerous technical publications on biochar, environmental sustainability, climate action, natural resource management, and rural development.

Through Biochar Academy, Dr. Reddy shares the practical knowledge, lessons learned, and proven methodologies gained from years of hands-on experience. His courses are designed not only to explain the science behind biochar but also to help learners establish biochar enterprises, improve agricultural productivity, develop carbon credit projects, restore degraded ecosystems, and contribute to a regenerative, low-carbon future.
